Dufftown occurs as burgh in Moray, Scotland, United Kingdom. Dufftown is placed on the River Fiddich and is the location of several Scotch whisky distilleries. It produces additional malt whisky than any other town in the United Kingdom. A big & better known one still is the Glenfiddich distillery that distills Glenfiddich single malt Scotch whisky. A Glenfiddich still is owned by William Grant & Sons, Dufftown's largest employer. Dufftown's notable buildings include Auchindoun Castle and Balvenie Castle.
George Stephen, 1st Baron Mount Stephen, one of the founders of the Canadian Pacific Railway was born within Dufftown.
